There’s a beautiful area on Houston Mesa Road near the Shoofly Village Ruins that has a wide open field. In August, these gorgeous yellow flowers bloom in sprightly patches. Everything is usually at it’s most lush this month due to the monsoon. The cows must love it. They always look so fat and happy this time of year. You can see them relaxing in the shade of the distant juniper trees.
